![]() ![]() Most recently the UAD SSL, SSL Native Bus, and BX Townhouse, but every time I click back to the SHMC it just straight up sounds “more like a record.” No contest. I’ve been REALLY trying to like something more than it. I’ve always been a drum-heavy mixer, so having something that keeps the drums in check and helps the guitar/vocals shine has been a game changer for me. I’m stuck on the Plugin Alliance version of the Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor (original green light version.) Are there any other supporters out there? To be completely honest, I think I might like the EQ curve that the Nickel transformer puts on my mix more than anything to do with the compression, but I’ve really been loving the way that it pushes guitars out to the front of the mix and makes them sparkle. What I’d really like to ask is what is your favorite is and why, but as that discussion rages on endlessly, I want to zero in on this one and compare to a couple of others. I have an unhealthy obsession with shooting out mix bus compressors. ![]()
